Abstract

In the last few years, citizen science has been discussed in academic research as a tool to increase citizens involvement with public administration decisions. In this paper we will investigate how far citizen science can contribute to that goal by observing and analysing the participatory process in a community in Catalonia. We will discuss our findings from this particular case and try to extract general advice for public institutions in order to implement citizens science successfully.
